Welcome to the fifth edition of Alpha Commanders
I was ecstatic to be able to sit down with the latest Alpha Commander, Sheriii and her awesome ACP team in the WAA (We are angels) Alliance for an amazing interview about their ACP adventure in the June 2020 Alpha Control Point.
A Long Time Coming
It’s an exciting story. One that didn’t happen overnight. A brand new commander in a new alliance, Sherriii and her team in WAA tell me about their long-planned path to victory.
It took almost a year for this achievement to come to fruition. Sherriii begins the interview by telling me about the birth of a plan. “It was Deadli’s idea from way back when we lost ACP within 14 minutes back when Manifest won.” She laughs, “he was actually cheering me on this whole event, even though he doesn’t play anymore.” She seems to recall the memories fondly. “I knew it was something I wanted to do from that moment.”
Her team seems to reflect the same goal. Bright (also known as What the Fox in-game) chimes in, “it was never a matter of IF, it was just WHEN. Every time I try to retire, I say “unless Sheriii’s going for ACP”.”
“This one is for the girls!”

I asked Sheriii when she knew this would be the event that would be the one she would be going for. Sheriii tells me, “the last ACP I decided I was ready and I wanted it. I began preparing then.” Preparations included getting many talented players met in-game over the past year to be part of the exciting experience.
“I think it was about time we had a female Alpha Commander. I’ve known Sheriii for quite a long time. She’s a very smart player. And deserves to win the best prize in the game.”
Sherriii also tells me one of the main ways her team got ready to hold ACP was by practicing in Control Points of various regions during RvR (Region versus Region). “It was a great way to test what we may be able to use.” A year’s worth of planning and battle strategy was at their disposal to work towards the goal they knew would be theirs.
The Battle Has Begun
The event clocks rolled over and the team began to finalize last-minute preparations. “There was a bit of confusion,” Sherriii says, “we noticed some players had begun to port over earlier than had been typical the last few events.” She tells me that she ported over a little late and was not able to capture ACP first.
The team worked on porting over and preparing to fulfill the dream. Everyone knew their predetermined roles and what to send when it was time. A game plan was firmly in place and ready to execute.
The desire was there. WAA knew they wanted it. It was time.
An hour and forty minutes into the event on the fourth rally against the REBL alliance, ACP was theirs!
I asked the team to tell me about some of the intense battles they fought defending The Alpha Control Point. Sheriii tells me her favorite battle was definitely the rally that got them into ACP. She tells me her excitement at that moment, “I was so thrilled!”, Sherriii exclaims. Recalling the battles gets the rest of the team excited too.
Superman speaks up, “we had some great rallies from some incredible players.” The team tells me about some astounding rallies from many of the games players such as TheRealMatt, and Marco. Things got more exciting with more in-depth battles that began when What the Fox began to set on rally fillers as an additional deterrent. I am incredibly impressed as they tell me about the battles and I realize the advanced level of gameplay required to perform like such a finely oiled machine.
The team tells me its gratifying to play against other skilled players. “Capping TheRealMatt was a highlight, ” Bright tells me. It is satisfying to have true competition in these events.
Knowing you have succeeded against the best is a good feeling for anyone.
For roughly two hours the battles were fierce and nonstop. Sheriii says, “it was intense and incredibly fun during that time frame.”
One of the amazing things about speaking with ACP teams is learning how they have prioritized their strategies and found new ways to accomplish what they need. Each ACP brings a new surprise distinctive to each event for a player and their team.
One thing that stood out to me about this ACP was the vehicles that WAA used. I got excited when I saw them using my favorite to defend within my trap base for ACP also. Sheriii’s idea to use Farhpanzer as one of the defending vehicles was innovative, and it worked. I loved seeing the new tactic using my favorite vehicle come to life in a whole new way.
Bright adds, “It’s really important to ask questions and to answer questions for those wanting to learn. I remember going back and forth with Bruce Wang with our CP setups before he quit.” That exchange of information can be crucial to help form new and innovative ideas.
The team also made good use of mercenary troops. Sheriii tells me Masquerats and Scorpius were her favorite troops to use.
Sheriii tells me she went through 500 PYO Merc crates (pick your own mercenary crates) on her own. This doesn’t touch on what the entire team went through as well.
Although there is a cost to compete for the Alpha Control Point, the players that compete tell me the expense well worth it.
The most important single ingredients in the formula of success is knowing how to get along with people…
No, it’s not mine… It was Theodore Roosevelt…
But it’s all about Sheriii… Plus her hard work, of course!!!
One of my favorite moments of the interview is when I asked the team what they felt the most important element to win ACP was. They caught me off guard a little bit as they all exclaimed immediately and at once, “TEAM!”, then laughter erupted. I was tickled to hear again how important this team was to each other. Llikethesun spoke up, “it’s all about the team.”
“Sheriii has been one of the most dominant players in the game. A 24/7 attacker and has supported many other players in winning ACP.
She is the reason we won the biggest RVR tournament in the past. I believe we had zero sleep and then they extended it. Put it this way, she is one scary player when she attacks.
Being she is from CTK am very proud she has gone on to take ACP as she deserves it.
I’m so proud of her!”
Not only did Sheriii have the support of her incredible team, but her region as well. “It was amazing the way the region helped out donating tokens. It was unfortunate that they did not take effect, but the effort that the region made to assist was awesome,” Sheriii says, thankfully recalling the efforts of other alliances from her home region.
The team was so supportive of their new Commander. What the Fox loves to make gifs and shared a few that had been created for the event (see above). It helps to keep team morale up and keeps everyone constantly laughing and having a good time.
Sometimes the best things in the game surround the game, like the people you meet and the fun you have together.
Sheriii says, “You just can’t do ACP alone. It takes a really good team and the people you trust.”
It seems that when you have a good team that believes in you, anything is possible.
“Wolves don’t listen to the whispers of sheep.”
Mid-timeline ACP Commander
Before we conclude, I would also like to take a moment to mention the winner of the mid-timeline (Capped at Command Center 80) Alpha Control Point, Bandiera! Bandiera and team from the TFOA Alliance were unable to interview, unfortunately, but The Commanders Team wanted to be sure to congratulate that team as well! Great job, TFOA!
