The Mess Hall has opened within your base, after much deliberation about what new building was going to appear on the empty tile. This building is open for business, giving Meals that boost your stats in battle. Today we will discuss the cost of the Mess Hall, along with its benefits.

Where is the Mess Hall?

The Mess Hall is located to the south of the Master Intel Agency. It has a handy sign on it that reads “Mess Hall”. As of 9/17/21, the maximum Mess Hall Level is 140.

What are the costs to level?

The Mess Hall uses Mess Hall Architectural Plans,  RSS, and Speedups through level 80.  Levels 81-120 use Mess Hall Architectural Plans (T2) but no RSS or Speed Ups. It is also tied to your Command Center Level, so higher levels of the Mess Hall will require higher Base levels. The Mess Hall Architectural Plans needed per level are listed in the chart below (through level 74. More levels pending):

How does it work?

There are both Simple and Normal Ingredients at play here. You can earn these from events (if available), or purchase them in packs. You need a certain amount for each “Meal” and they are only consumed in battle. In other words, there is no timer on them like Banners or Serums. You must activate the Meal/s you want to use in combat. They can also be deactivated at no cost if you change your mind and want to use a different one.  Depending on your Mess Hall level you can activate multiple Meals at once.

  • One Meal: Level 1-39
  • Two Meals: Level 40-pending (past 74)

A few other things to remember:

  • Ingredients aren’t consumed until the action is complete. In other words, if you are marching to a resource tile and realize you have one activated (not that anyone would EVER tile someone), you can deactivate before you get there.
  • On that note, make sure you remember to deactivate your Meals if you’re doing something you don’t need them for!
  • Rallies can use Meals but consume three times more Ingredients.

Types of Meals

Each Meal gives different stat boosts, and you can’t use them all right away. Some require a higher Mess Hall Level.

  • Pizza Meal:
    • Level 1
    • Uses 1 Normal Ingredient
  • Ham and Veggies Meal:
    • Level 2
    • Uses 1 Simple Ingredient
  • Baked Beans Meal
    • Level 3
    • Uses 3 Normal Ingredients
  • Liver Sandwich Meal
    • Level 4
    • Uses 3 Simple Ingredients
  • Brownie Meal
    • Level 5
    • Uses 2 Normal Ingredients
  • Sharp Cheddar Meal (cheese is totally a meal)
    • Level 6
    • Uses 2 Simple Ingredients
  • Crackers Meal
    • Level 7
    • Uses 1 Simple and 1 Normal Ingredient
  • Canned Meat Meal
    • Level 60
    • Uses 2 Simple and 4 Normal Ingredients
  • Hot Dog Meal
    • Level 61
    • Uses 4 Simple and 2 Normal Ingredients
  • Peaches Meal
    • Level 81
    • Uses 3 Normal and 3 Simple Ingredients

As your Mess Hall Level increases, so do the stats on the Meals (although they do cap out).  The maximum level for each meal is 40, but this does NOT correspond to the Mess Hall building level. For example, the Ham and Veggies Meal reaches level 20 at Level 40 building level. The following are the maximum Meal stats:

Conclusion

The Mess Hall is another way to boost your stats within the game. Make sure that you do not have them activated if you don’t want to use them, as they are automatically eaten when you engage in battle.

What’s Next

Learn more about another type of consumable boost in Craft Some Concoctions in the Serum Lab.

Banners are another type of boost. These are short term, but not consumed and can be reused. Learn more about Banners in the Banner Encyclopedia.
