The aim of this guide is to show comparisons between the first four heroes and the latest four heroes, who seem to be phasing out the earliest versions. While writing this article, I came to the conclusion that, at the moment, the old heroes are still pretty relevant. This guide shows a comparison and highlights their most relevant abilities.
The new heroes are first released to level 100 and this guide compares them to the older heroes at level 250.
Riggs Vs Bruce
All-rounders, Riggs and Bruce, go toe to toe here. Bruce has a unique edge with his much larger stamina bar than any other hero, thus making Bruce the most effective hero for raid bosses. As far as economic and combat benefits go, Bruce at level 100 is superior marginally than Riggs at 250.

Xira Vs Aria
While Aria seems to replace Xira in the attack category, Xira still rallies a lot faster than Aria does with her rally time reduction skill. For many attackers, Xira is still the go-to for rallying, while Aria performs a solo attack a little bit better than any other hero.

Ronen Vs Eli
The base defense specialists, Ronen and Eli, have distinct characteristics that make them both relevant at this level. Ronen boosts the squad member Molotov rating more than any other hero. The difference in base defending stats remains minimal with Eli gaining a bit of an advantage. Eli also comes with a brand new set of skills that make him the preferred hero for attacking syndicate outposts/fortresses and garrisons.

In conclusion, the new heroes are only marginally better in some regards than their older counterparts. As new hero levels get released for the newer heroes, the comparisons will become more noticeable and the older heroes are expected to become obsolete.
The heroes Mara, Jade, and Ryder were excluded from this guide as they have no comparable counterparts as regards their troop type-specific skills. In my experience, these heroes are most useful in Garrisons and cater to bases with Intel buildings solely adapted to the preferred troop type of each hero.
