Fuel, fuel, fuel… everyone needs fuel. It keeps us mobile and able to visit our friends… or enemies. How to get it? What’s the most cost-efficient way to get Fuel? Let’s take a closer look.
What is Fuel?
Fuel is used for porting, shielding, opening Vehicle Crates and sending some types of Missiles in WWR. There are two “main” types of Fuel; Tier 1 and Tier 2. Tier 1 Fuel is used for Bases under Level 20. Base 20+ uses Tier 2.
Where do I get it?
Fuel can be obtained in several ways. Events and Packs are two of the main ways to get Fuel. However, now there is an additional way to earn Fuel; the Fuel Extractor.
This building is located to the right of your Command Center. It produces fuel and must be regularly collected as there is a cap (based on the level). The costs and benefits of the Fuel Extractor are listed below for each level.
|Level||Fuel Extractor Arch Plan||Production Choice||T1 Hourly Income||T1 Capacity||T2 Hourly Income||T2 Capacity|
Ways to Use Fuel
Fuel is used mainly for Porting and Shielding. It is different from other games you may have encountered that has a “one size fits all” port and shield system. Different time frames and distances require different amounts of Fuel. The longer or farther, the more Fuel used. It is also used to open certain Vehicle crates or send specific Missiles.
Fuel is used to activate a Peace Shield. The amount of Fuel used depends on how long you want to be shielded for. You can shield for up to 3 days. Simply hit the “up” arrow on the side of your screen to access the boosts menu, and choose Peace Shield. Then choose how long you want to be shielded for.
For many players, this is the biggest Fuel drain. Everyone likes to move! Each port takes Fuel; Tier 1 if you’re under Command Center 20, and Tier 2 if you’re above. How much Fuel it takes depends on how far you want to move. Just a few spots will take much less Fuel than moving all the way across the map.

Additionally, once you have ported you will discover the “cooldown”. This doesn’t directly pertain to Fuel, but it will keep you from using it too quickly unless you have a Cooldown Reduction item. Cooldown time can also be reduced by activating the permanent Teleport Cooldown Reductions in the Science Academy. There are nodes under Riley Rewards and Combat. Altogether these will give a 15% Teleport Cooldown Reduction if you complete all 5 of them. You can also speed your cooldown once.
Opening “regular” Vehicle Plans requires Fuel. Rare Plans use Vehicle tags instead. Keep this in mind as you decide how to allocate your Fuel resources. The cost is 100 Tier 1 Fuel per crate.
Some Missiles require Fuel as well. Most require only Tier 1 Fuel, but event Missiles may require special event Fuel that is able to be obtained during the event period (whatever event that is at the time). The new Anti-Mercenary Missiles use their own type of Fuel: Anti Mercenary Missile Fuel.
