Events are necessary for all players. In this article, we will explore what events are, how they work, and the best ways to benefit from participating in them.
I started the game. I did the tutorial. I read the article After the Tutorial- What to Do Now That You are on Your Own. How does actual gameplay work?
While there are MANY options for gameplay, an extremely large part of that is Event Completion.
What are In-Game Events?
In-game events are specifically set up by the developer to increase guided participation and award prizes for doing so.
In another article I wrote, I Couldn’t Resist… I’m Back!, I mentioned “Events are extremely helpful… For one thing, events give you an idea of where the game is currently by how you achieve tiers and what prizes are given for getting them.”
Events are useful to help you grow and stay on task. By looking at what it takes to complete an event, you will have an idea of what the game developers are expecting the majority of players to complete. It gives you an idea of what other players may be working on as well.
To locate where Events are, make sure your game is in your “City View”. This is the view in which you can see all of your buildings. The Event button is located on the right side of the screen towards the middle. If you press on this button, you will be brought into the event window.
In the event window, you will see a list of all of the events currently taking place. Each event will display the points you have earned thus far, the title of the event, and the time remaining to complete the event. The time remaining is very important to pay attention to. Once the timer runs out, the event is over. If the event repeats, any previously earned points will be lost and unable to be used toward the next event. Points ONLY count towards the current timer.
Events vary in time amounts, so knowing what you have to work with is crucial.
Prizes Offered and How to Earn Them
Each event will offer different prizes. Be sure to check closely at what is offered to see how much you may want to focus on an event. If you do not need Rose Gold any more and that’s the main prize offered, there is no need to waste resources on the event when they can be used towards an event that offers prizes you need more. Prioritize not only for what you need but what you have.
Another extremely important tip is to wait to do things like Research or Building Upgrades until there is an event available for prizes. Other events such as Manufacturing or Troop Building come up often as well. It is really nice to get freebies for tasks you have to do anyway, so save certain tasks until an Event that requires that action pops up!
Each event will display exactly what tasks you need to do in order to complete the event. Some can be a little tricky, so pay close attention to what is required. For example, in recent training events in older regions, you receive more points for training t6 troops than you would if you trained t7 troops.
It’s like finding fun little Easter Eggs! Always pay close attention!
Completing an Event Tier and Finishing the Event
When you complete a tier in an event, a window will pop up to show your current progress. It shows what you won for achieving that tier and gives you the option to review the event or to click the event window closed and continue with your game.
As you complete events, the progress as you tier out will also appear in your mail under the reports tab.
Here is where you will be informed of your placement when events are over as well. Oftentimes, the items you receive from placement are much better than the prizes offered at each tier of an event. The higher your completion placement, the better the prizes you will receive. Because of this, on things you are able, sometimes it is very beneficial to continue with the event past “completion”.
Basic Events
Basic events are ones that happen frequently and often contain basic prizes. These are typically (but not always) the events towards the bottom of the event list. They are often events like Manufacturing events, Research Events, and other tasks that you would do on a daily basis as part of regular game maintenance.
Alliance Events
In order to compete in an Alliance Event, you must be in an alliance.
Alliance events are open to the entire alliance community to help complete. The tasks required are listed and often include tasks that any member can complete such as building upgrades, helping another alliance member, or hitting a syndicate. Often there is a limit in which some tasks can be completed for points, so be sure you know where your efforts are focused.
One of the most important alliance events for many is RvR Kill Events. The event tab includes both the solo and alliance event tabs within. You can also check history for the ranking of the past few events.
There are many events that you need your Alliance family members to help complete! Coordinates times with fellow members to make event completion easier for Alliance events.
Special Events
Special Events are the big ones. RvR’s, Syndicate Outpost Events, Garrison Events, ACP, and Raid Bosses are all examples of main or special events. These events are usually the ones that offer the best prizes. More unique items, titles and other things to help improve your base are offered.
They are usually located at the top of your event list.
As said before, be sure to read EXACTLY what is required to complete the event. Even if it has been the same requirements to finish a kill event for a month, the next kill event may have a different task in order to finish.
Title Events
Title events are why many in World War Rising farm. Title events are usually won by collecting tokens. One troop merc farming can help you earn tokens to go towards the event. Timing tile return correctly has the potential of adding two extra loads of tokens during this event.
The Title event is called such because the top winners earn prizes, or “Titles” that will be displayed on your base. In addition to the visual accolade, titles offer actions or boost that can greatly assist the player that has earned them.
Important verbiage to note for title events, the titles only last 24 hours until the title event says LIFETIME TITLE EVENT. This is when the permanent titles will be rewarded.
Pro Tip- Save your event crates (especially the legendary ones) until the lifetime title event appears. This will give you a large boost towards earning the title. Trying to save purchases until this event can help also.
Other Tips For Events
- Wait to Level Heroes to assist completing Raid Boss Events Whenever possible, wait to level up your heroes until raid boss events. When the Raid Boss appears, ‘Attack Once’ until you max your streak buff, then ‘Max Attack’. To replenish your stamina, raise your hero level by one. ‘Max Attack’ again if the raid boss has not died yet and your streak buff is still maxed. ‘Max Attacks’ offer more points when the stamina bar is full, so ‘Max Attack’ until the raid boss dies. Repeat as you are able. This tip also works on regular Syndicates.
- Save Tasks until They Can be Completed in an Event This has been mentioned a few times in this article. I am mentioning this again because it is an excellent way to grow your inventory and help you grow. This is especially useful for F2P players. If you do not buy packs, this is the most important way to obtain items you need.
- Check Events Before Doing Anything on your Base Sometimes even missions are needed to complete an event. Checking events would help you to know exactly what is required in your normal mundane tasks.
- Wait to purchase packs until a FLASH Event is present. Packs that contain tokens will go towards the event. If you are able to purchase packs with tokens during this time, you will be awarded extra, much harder to get prizes (Be sure to check to see if the pack you are purchasing offers tokens).
- Plan for Future Events After a while, you will begin to see a pattern with most events. Know what is coming and prepare accordingly.
Player Expertise
“Troop train – food is usually abundant at low levels. I like to start a train of ops then cancel it then start again till I max the event and let the train complete on the last event.
Speedup – this one really helps to have the starter pack with the extra build and research queue. Select one long research and one short. Let the short research complete naturally and speed up the long research every time the speed event is on.
Manufacturing – the ranked prizes are not worth competing for so make sure to only combine enough to hit tier 3.
Mission complete – initially you get 10 points for both completing the mission (I.e waiting for the timer to finish) and hitting complete so try to do both within the window. Tier 3 on this event is hard at low VIP levels because there aren’t enough missions so aim for tier 2 or use mission reroll chances and low-value speedups (tier 1 speedup for 1 minute).
Merc training events – don’t blow all your tokens maxing the event save some tokens over time, and build 50-60 mercs at a time each event reset (the placing prizes for merc training events tend to be decent and you can normally get a top 10 finish early on by training 50-60 mercs).
General tips for events – plan what you need and only use the resources you need to hit maximum tier and no more (unless the placing prize is really really good).
Keep one building plot open – this can be used to quickly build and demolish a low-level RSS building for points.
Save big research items and builds for the big alliance events. Missile research gives a lot of power (not sure why but that’s irrelevant) so save those big power researches to help your alliance tier out the bigger events.
The other key power researches early on are:
Unlocking troop tier
Unlocking syndicate attack levels
Unlocking new trap/ wall defence tier”- Htron/ HTrogdorr (RON), Region Mercury Reach
“Take a good look at the events you have and think about how they will affect you long term. If the second or third tier in an event is kind of okay but takes a lot of time and effort to do, do not waste your stamina or other limited items to get them. There will be a better event to complete at a later date.”- Unburnable/Hakoshi (2Shy)
“Troop Training: with an empty training queue, easily complete the event by starting to fill up the queue with all ops training and then canceling it till the event is completed. Just be willing to spend the RSS.
General Advice: events can give out rewards that help build and strengthen your base
Speedups Event: save up speeding up the long researches or speeding up troop training for when the event pops up
Token Collection and Flash Events: the same trick as emblems farming, Send 1 of your highest ops to sit on RSS tile LVL 4 for however long it sits there. If you have aircraft, Fokkers is good to use. Fokker because it’s cheaper than other aircraft to train.”- Regina SM (SB4M), Region Shale Plateau
“Pace yourself. Don’t go all out in round one trying to get first (especially when the prizes for the tiers are sometimes better – and guaranteed when you do the event – than the ones you get for getting first). This mostly applies to shorter events.
I know it’s hard to not just go all out leveling squads or hero’s or killing syndicates. Whatever. But in situations where you have finite resources to complete the shorter events – Comms, APs, Hero XP/Medals, stamina, bullets, whatever – try to pace yourself.” –x BRIGHT x (WAA), Etamin
