Maintenance of your Command Center begins day 1 of playing.   There are so many different aspects to develop your base, it’s important to take a look every day to make sure that you are at the right place for your level.

Each player is different with their capabilities, but every player still needs to make sure that their Command Center is up to date with the latest possible Research, Gear, Hero Skills, and many other things that makeup what makes you a formidable player.

In this article, we will take a look at what you should check daily so your Command Center is continuously maxed for your particular level.

Why Does Daily Maintenance Even Matter?

The short answer: Preparedness.

On occasion, we forget to shield ourselves long enough.  Sometimes we didn’t realize an event was coming.  Sometimes it’s just you and your peeps hanging out looking for targets.  Whatever the reason, whether attacking or defending, battles, growth, and any number of activities will be better when you are prepared.

Keep in mind that the following list can be altered in order depending on what works for you.  It is variable in that you may not like everything listed or you prefer to check tiles first even though it’s listed last below.  Like your base, your style of play is very personalized.

Things to Consider

Before you get started, there are a few things to consider.  First and foremost is events.  Don’t forget that events are what enable you to achieve the majority of items that are able to be obtained without actually purchasing packs. A quick check to see what you can benefit from is important for those ‘freebie’ items.

Another consideration for events would be that you may NOT want to do certain things to save those activities for when there is an event that will award you prizes for doing so.  It depends on the current trends of your event cycle and what may or may not be worth saving to do.

A quick perusal of your inventory to open any crates you may be able to use is also wise.  This will help you to ensure that all of your items are being used to their fullest potential as quickly as possible.

Don’t get discouraged if you can not do much.  Some days you will, some you will not do many activities.  Stick within your capabilities at your own level and don’t be concerned if someone else mentions doing much more.

Events

Aside from the quick check you should do initially when logging on, come back to events to be sure that you know what you may be able to work on. You want to maximize events as much as possible.  For a more in-depth article on events see here:  A Beginners Guide to Events (I WANT STUFF!!).

Alliance Chores

Alliance maintenance is extremely important.  It becomes more important as the game progresses and alliances are introduced to alliance research.  When you first log on, always push the help button before everything else.  Keep pushing it in between each task.  In the long run, helping your alliance helps you.

When doing Alliance Research, be sure to do the starred research so that everyone is not donating all over the place.  If you stay focused, you will be able to add stats up much quicker if everyone is on the same page.

Maintenance with Alliance Research

Being an r4 in your alliance will add extra chores to this portion of tasks that often include checking chats, activity, status of players, and external matters that may need to be dealt with.

Hero

Checking your hero begins with items.  Go through each hero and check to see if you have any available hero skill points or mastery skill points that you can open and add to your hero.

Maintain your Heroes!

If your hero has been leveled, you may have new skills that were not previously available.  In addition, if you have leveled, your stamina bar has been replaced.  Take a look and see if a re-skilling may be beneficial for you.  If that is the case, don’t forget to re-skill in the presets section so that you can benefit from the new tree if you are going back and forth between tasks.  For example, using Bruce for Research and switching over to try defending would require different skills, therefore different presets.

*Keep in mind that you may not want to level your hero and save action for a raid boss event.

Squad

Your Squad can be leveled as you earn the commendations.  The only time you may want to wait is when there is a cycle of squad leveling events that you can benefit from.  Take the time to see if you can make your squad stronger by adding commendation to level up whichever squad you can (be sure to cycle through all squads).  If your squad is not maxed, be sure to take advantage of squad presets if you are able.  This is especially important for players that switch between playing styles like defense, attack, or the Control Point.

Squad Command

Research

Continuously keeping up with research should go without saying, however you would be surprised at how many people let it slide.

Don’t forget the hero, gear, banners, and any boosts you may be able to use to save time and resources while working on research.

Check Research Often

Again, this may be something that you would like to wait on depending on events, but it is extremely important to keep up with.  Go down your entire list and double-check that you have all completed.  Sometimes you can be surprised that you earned dossiers or resources you didn’t realize you have.

Science Academy

The Science Academy is sadly one of the most neglected areas in many Command Centers.  I can’t tell you how many times I ask a player about how their Science Academy boosts are and I’m told they haven’t really been done.

There are thousands of percentage stats inside this building.

Science Academy Maintenance

Prioritize your materials and activate boosts that pertain to your playstyle.  If you don’t do the Control Point, don’t waste materials on those boosts.

Banners

Another inventory item, Banner crates should all be opened.  Go into your Armory once they have been opened and combine your banners to make sure you achieve the best level you are able. Keep in mind that the banners you are wearing will not incorporate towards any combining efforts you may try.  If you need the fourth banner to go up a level, you must unequip the banner to count.

Displayed Banners in a Monument

Once this is done, double-check your banner presets if you have them, making sure your best strategy is set to activate when needed.

Buildings

Aside from regular buildings as you level your Command Center, be sure to always pay special attention to the unique buildings that provide incredible stats to help with your battles.  Be sure to check to see if you can level:

  • Intel Buildings
  • Master Intel Building
  • Vehicle Hanger- While here, take a moment to make sure all of your vehicles are updated to the max level as well.

Troops

This is another event dependent activity.  If you are getting reading for a kill event, however, it’s best to make sure your troop levels are ideal for the battles ahead.

It doesn’t hurt to do a quick review of your mercenary troops and how they interact with each other as well.

Missions

Missions are sometimes a forgotten task that you can really benefit from.  If you have a Mission’s Banner, be sure to equip it before you get started.

Alliance missions are great for obtaining loyalty.  Keep in mind that all members of an alliance should work on this daily.  Loyalty is used to speed troops among other things.  When rallies are set, any member can help speed marches into the rally to assist if they have the loyalty to do so.

Overall, missions are great for materials and experience for heroes aside from the loyalty mentioned above.

Farming

If you farm for tokens, be sure to switch out your tiles if needed.  Losing tiles can be frustrating at times.

Farm life is the best life!

*A tip for those that like to sleep:  Switch out t1 for t2 level RSS with your one troop to be able to get enough time on a tile to sleep through the night without having to switch.  This is also helpful for events to avoid getting stuck with returning marches out of the region.

Other Things to Keep Up With

In addition to all that was previously mentioned, there are a few more things it would not hurt to take a quick peek at to make sure you are ready for anything:

  • Contraband- Keeping an emergency set of contraband never hurts!
  • Serums– I keep at least one defense serum and one hero serum at all times.  Be sure to mix serums suited to your playing style.
  • Gear Leveling– Higher level gear = higher stats
  • Hit a Syndicate or Two– If the Stamina is sitting there, mind as well use it!
  • Free Combat Sim Hit- Free item each time!
  • Fuel–Don’t forget to collect your free fuel!  This adds up much quicker than you realize!
  • Mail– Check the mail for game updates, rewards, and alliance happenings to stay on top of the latest information.
  • SHIELD– Check shield time!  Be sure to check again when you log off!

Player Expertise

When I asked our community what they did for daily maintenance, here is what they had to say:

“Collecting loyalty through missions is important.” -TheRealMatt (~Ink) Region #535, Etamin

“One of the most important things I do daily is to cycle my Fokkers on RSS tiles, usually 2 to 4 times a day. Important to get tokens, and helps to tier up on events. We use 1st March rules, not 1st to tile, so I often use 3,600 loyalty to back off.

To help our alliance grow, I always do alliance research to make us stronger.

Events give cool free stuff, so I always do tier 1, and if I have extra time or MZ offers free equipment for max tier, then I go max.

Finally, the easiest task is Missions. They provide much needed RSS, and I’ve purchased over 10m speedup minutes with gold, so I breeze through max Missions in 3 minutes.  If I have rare extra real lifetime, I hit Chance and do another round, or use Chance to max tier an Event.” -Rellik (BRH) Region #521 Saiph

“When I log on, I say a quick good morning to the folks, collect alliance gifts, do alliance donations, and check the blogs.  I check the r4 chat, act appropriately to what was there, do a quick member check, make sure everyone is ok. I ask if anyone has taken a hit or see if anyone needs help.” -Aimee (O+G) Region #547, Basalt Badlands

“The most important thing to keep up on your base daily is to fill your building’s queues, fill research queues, and do the daily events.” -Zxero (FU ) Region #331, Carbon Area

“Making sure I hit that alliance help button.”-MZ SKORPIO (DECH) #539 Algorab

“Logging in daily (and sometimes even hourly) is the best way I find to keep up while spending less. Sometimes things like Reaper or Centurion gear are released and you’ll find all the isotopes or other event-related things you need in the hourly events at the bottom of the list. These usually only take seconds to complete and help your base get stronger while spending less.” -Unburnable (2shy)/(ar15), Regions #s 297 Flint, 531 Steel

“Here’s what I do. Wake up and make sure I used all my hero stamina which regenerated overnight. I make sure I constantly have something building, researching and training troops. Then I see if there are any events I can do. I check my email and DMs to see if any of my teammates need RSS. Next I take the money out of the treasury with interest and put more money in. Also important, I collect my fuel so it can regenerate. That’s probably my checklist of things to do when I wake up and work on my base.” – WarriorShow (M0B) Region # 325 Slate Field

“I’m always checking daily to see if there is some research that I missed.” -TheNameThief (TRU) Region #531, Steel Area

“I have a twice-daily routine of using all of my accumulated stamina. I empty the stamina bar when I start and end my day. The items I receive by either killing a syndicate or clearing them of their contents help a lot. It saves me from having to buy a pack or two a week. A full stamina bar is wasted stamina. It should always be in a state of rejuvenation.” -WhoDat (PoPT) Region #277, Coal
