They started off as Normal Troops Stats.  Now, Normal Troops have a new name! Introducing the rebranded Normal troops as Alpha Troops! That’s right Generals, our very first troops have been going through a major overhaul, including, but not limited to adding Private Wojtek in the all new Bestiary,  to getting a brand new moniker.  With all of the new introductions to  Alpha Troops, the new Alpha Troop Research is one of the more important aspects you will want to add to your repertoire.

Let’s explore what Alpha Troop Research is, requirements to complete, stats you will be able to achieve, and ways to make this brand new research work for you. Let’s beef up those Alpha Troops, Generals!

Brand New Alpha Troop Stats are Boosted Even further with New Research!
Brand New Alpha Troop Stats are Boosted Even further with New Research

What is Alpha Troop Research?

Alpha Troop Research focuses on the brand new Alpha Troop Stats that add to the strength of your Alpha troops.  The research can be found in the Research Facility.  Please keep in mind that these stats affect Alpha Troops only and do not assist with Raider, Noble, or Mercenary type troops. It DOES assist with ALL Alpha Troops including Infantry, Artillery, Vehicle, and Operative Troops for all levels available.

Despite this new stat being only for one troop type, this research adds stats to help in Base Battles, Garrison Battles, and Control Point Battles when Alpha Troops are used.  There are a few nodes that add to overall strength (meaning all troops) such as Troop Attack and The Wojtek Attack bonus at the bottom of the tree.

As this is the newest research, it is currently at the top of the Research Facility Tree list, but look for it above lv 150 Defense Research.

Alpha Troop Research Requirements

As with previous research trees that have been introduced, Alpha Troop Research requires Alpha Research Dossiers specific to only this research tree.

You must be at Command Center level 120 to begin this research.

*Pro Tip- Remember that these stats are ONLY effective for Alpha Troops!

How to Make These Benefits Work for You

I know I have said it several times already, but remember that Alpha Stats only work for Alpha Troops. If you do not have Alpha Troops, this research will not help from any node saying “Alpha” in its name. Initially, all my regular troop types were Noble Troops, mostly because t11 could be opened more quickly. Now that the Alpha troops stats have been boosted, I am switching to all Alpha. Increased stats mean a stronger base.

Another thing to also remember: Private Wojtek stats also carry a lot of Alpha stats.  Despite this, Wojtek still will help overall strength from his own stats that are present in addition to Alpha stats, even if you do not have Alpha Troops.  He is still much more effective when used in conjunction with Alpha Troops. To read further about Private Wojtek, see the link in the Conclusion below to learn more.

While Mercenary Troops may be stronger at this time, boosting your Alpha troops can have a considerable impact on your base defense as well as lighter targets to attack, allowing you to save your Mercenary Troops for tougher battles ahead. Many defenders have a large troop cushion in between mercenary front lines and their boosting mercs. Switching from your current troops (if they are not already Alpha Troops) can add strength to your overall defense with the higher stats you are able to achieve currently.

In addition, always remember to research the stats you are able to that will help your play style. If you do not lead at CP, avoid those nodes until others are complete as much as you are able. Always do what will actually benefit you first!

*Pro Tip- If you are a lower spender, be sure to research the stats that benefit you the most first.  This is true for any tree.  Some will let you skip around a bit easier than others.  Always work your game to your best benefit!

Player Perspective

Hearing from the players is one of my favorite things about writing articles for WWR Command.  Thank you Nate for your input!

“Alpha troops are good for defense as well. I told my team to forget about Raider or Noble Troops. Train all Alpha for defense.” -Natechilldog (WWBD) Steel Region, #531
