Welcome to the 9th Edition of Alpha Commanders

ACP is the pinnacle of the game.  It’s what every true rally lead aspires to.  In this edition of Alpha Commanders, we look at two amazing teams that had drastically different approaches to win their prospective timelines’ ACP Championship for the month of September!

Congratulations to ZForce with (^LTS), Loyal to Seba 114, and Professor LJ with (BDTY), Blood Thirsty Alliances for their ACP victories!

And the winners are: BDTY & ^LTS!

^LTS is New to the ACP Stage!

For the first time, ZForce and his amazing team, (^LTS) have one the coveted Alpha Commander Title!  I sat down with ZForce and his incredible team to discuss their experience competing for the Alpha Control Point this month.

How it All Began for ^LTS

After a bit of introductions and chit chat, I ask the team what made them decide to compete.  They tell me it’s been in the works for a while, but they haven’t wanted to attack teams from their own region.  Since previous ACP’s were held primarily from home team alliances, they hadn’t tried previously.

After the last ACP ended, they decided to prepare for winning the following month.

Bobo tells me they spent the week before ACP testing different attacks and defenses related to Control Points in their home region and during events.

“After taking our home CP, we branched out to the CPs during RvR,” RRRMayhem says.

^LTS Loyal to Seba 114 Wins ACP

Another interesting fact the team shares with me is that they are a recently merged alliance.  One alliance loved to battle in CP whereas the other alliance in the merge loved to focus on Command Center battles.  The team feels this made for a unique and much stronger team in general.

And So It Begins

At the very beginning of the event, Zforce ported over right away and was able to fill ACP immediately.  Quickly following, Bobo and Mayhem ported over and filled right behind Zforce.

^LTS Battles at the Alpha Control Point

“I believe we filled completely in about 30 seconds, “ Mayhem recalls.  ThickChick adds, “Z was great at telling everyone what to do.”  There was no question about who needed to be where.

Bobo adds, “We were extremely prepared, but never really any of the skills we practiced.”

The Event Was Exciting!

We Capped every rally sent at us minus one, the team laughs as they recall all of the exciting battles that took place.

Intense Moments at the Alpha Control Point

The only troop that the team lost the entire time was some t7 AB (Air Brigade Mercenary Troops).  Zforce tells me the AB and Dragonflies he used were his favorite troops to use for this event.  After a while, the team did run out of T7 AB and were forced to drop down to T6, however, it didn’t seem to affect the intensity of their attack very much.

Other ACP Happenings for ^LTS

While the core CP team held down the fort at ACP, other members of the alliances branched out to take control of the garrison’s in the region that provided extra alliance boosts the team in ACP could benefit from.

Dave and Mikey stayed on Garrison duty to ensure the boosts were ever present.  ThickChick tells me they would send 1 Phoenix at the Garrisons to bounce people so that they could take possession.

Throughout the event, the team held the Four Main garrisons.  They tell me the boosts seemed to help a great deal in their overall defense.

ZForce was extremely happy with the amount of participation from his team.  Because of the team’s hard work, “No one was able to get a bite of the apple,” ZForce laughs.

The Event Comes to a Close for ZForce and Team

Z tells me the team held the entire event save roughly 70 seconds before the team took ACP.  In a dominating effort, the team held throughout.

“All the practice made a huge difference,” ThickChick states.

Although there were several Line calls before the event to discuss different strategies, the team actually did not use Line or any other form of communication outside of the game for the actual event.

For future events, ^LTS tells me they would like to see the possibility of titles offered when holding the Garrison, similar to CP to further assist in holding ACP.

Congratulations again to ZForce and the rest of ^LTS for their outstanding win this month in ACP!

*^LTS would like to thank the following players for their participation:

  • Evil Bobo
  • R3 Mayhem
  • Thick Chic
  • Mikey
  • Hakoshi
  • ChillD
  • Last Samurai7
  • Ace888
  • Snowpiercer
  • JeCeJaH
  • Trebber
  • GreyW
  • Diablo Road
  • H8ter77
  • Cheeks

And They are BACK! BDTY Wins ACP again!

In an unusual and totally different approach to ACP, BDTY wins again for the second time in a row!  Professor LJ and his team blow my mind with their approach this time around.

What made their win unusual?  To begin with, LJ and the team didn’t even port to the ACP region immediately as every other ACP winner has done in the past.  The team tells me unbelievably, they didn’t even prep for the event this time around.

BDTY Blood Thirsty Wins ACP

The Event for BDTY

Roughly two hours after the event began, BDTY decided to port over and see what was going on.

“We decided to hit it and just see what would happen,” Dottie laughs, remembering how the team got started.  When they won the attack they decided to fill for a little while and see who may want to put up a good fight. After the first favorable defense, we decided to stay LJ recalls.

The team says this event was much more relaxing this time around.  They were filled with mostly T7/8 ops troops.  They tell me people threw in random T9 troops that people had, just so they could participate.

Dottie says, “We didn’t mess with the garrisons at all while we were holding.”  The team did not seem to need the extra boosts since they held the entire event until they decided to vacate ACP.

BDTY Wins!

After a relaxing night of coffee and friends, Professor LJ vacated the ACP knowing the win was in the bag.

“I wish there had been some more fighting,” he says.  He goes on to suggest that offering better prizes for the ACP event may entice more people to participate. “It comes down to people not being afraid to lose what they have got,” he adds.

The rest of the team seems to agree.  They feel if mercenary troops were more readily available, people may not be as afraid to lose them.

After roughly 12 ½ hours, BDTY knew they had won and pulled from ACP.

Congratulations once again to the now two-time championship team!

BDTY would like to thank the following players for their participation:
